UAB "AEXN"

AEXN is taking part this year too and will be welcoming visitors on 16-17 May. Come and take a look around our space and hear fascinating stories from volunteer guides about its architecture and history. In total, 70 sites across Vilnius will be open for the weekend - many of which are usually closed or only partly accessible to the public.

Following an international competition, our proposal was awarded first place. Occupying a 5-hectare site in the very heart of Klaipėda, at the confluence of the Danė River and the Curonian Lagoon, the area has long served port-related functions.

Earthen embankments separate the building from its surroundings, creating a threshold into a space of contemplation and transformation. The design is based on three core principles: space, process, and material. The spatial layout introduces a system of calm inner courtyards and circular ritual areas - a refuge for visitors in moments of grief.

The architectural vision draws inspiration from the archetype of a Hanza city, aiming to create a symbolically distinct form that resonates with the surrounding context and reinforces the identity of the area.

European Cultural Centre kuruojamoje parodoje AEXN studijos projektas pristatomas greta tarptautinių architektų ir kūrėjų, nagrinėjančių kaip architektūra gali kurti prasmingą, tvarią ir emociškai jautrią aplinką.
